Wizard of Oz-Tin Man's Heart - Working Clock - Mixed Media Art with Stand

Inspired by my favorite exchange in the original 1939 movie, the Tin Man wants a heart and the Wizard advises him about the difficulties of having such a gift, "As for you, my galvanized friend, you want a heart! You don't know how lucky you are not to have one. Hearts will never be practical until they can be made unbreakable." And the Tin Man replies, "But I -- I still want one."

And that is the blessed reminder that only the ability to love so deeply can also be the very thing that gives us such heartbreak -- but we still love every chance we get.

This mixed media artwork is a fully functioning clock set in an eco-friendly ceramic resin, painted and sealed with clear resin. The chain is stainless steel with gold highlights and adorned with daisies just like the testimonial heart given to the Tin Man by the Wizard. 

The stand is acrylic covered in a metallic gold with the movie quote on the front of the display. There's a plaque at the base that says, "A heart is not judged by how much you love, but by how much you are loved by others." And a dark green velvet cushion where the heart clock can rest against the display stand. You can also hang the heart clock by the chain if desired.
